    Kathy Ranstead
What a beautiful photo of Joan!
Joan and I were friends for over 50 years, starting when Elisabeth was just a toddler, sharing a playpen with Carole Ann. A kind, generous soul, she would often arrive bearing thoughtful gifts: a beautiful pair of towels to adorn the bathroom; hot soup when I was ill; a roast of beef when I was grieving. We often talked on the telephone, sharing the joys, trials and tribulations of everyday living.
Joan loved a party and was the life of the party: her Canada Day celebrations were legendary. She loved to laugh and her laughter was contagious.
Joan was a devoted mother to Elisabeth and Mike, a loving wife to Leo, a very proud grandma and a special friend to me, supportive and present at all memorable occasions: a very important part of my life. I will miss you, dear friend. May you rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to all from Kathy, Tom, Sue, Sharon and Carole Ann.
