LEFAIVE, Laura (Helen)

Peacefully on May 21st, due to natural causes, Laura left us.  She will be reunited with her beloved husband Joseph (Hank) and her loving sister Sylvia (Tillie). Missing her terribly are daughter Jane Lloyd (Fred), grandsons Brian (Jen) and Brad, great-grandsons Ben and Patrick and nephews Dan Fournier (Linda) and John Lefaive (Elaine).  She will be sorely missed by her cherished friends the Vodden and McCarten families.  Laura was a very active member of St. Gertrude’s Parish over the years and was a longtime member of the C.W.L for over 50 years, and spent many hours volunteering for various organizations in Oshawa.  Due to COVID-19 a graveside service will be held.  Memorial donations to CNIB or Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated and can be made through McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558).  In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we encourage relatives and friends to express their sympathies and condolences online at makfuneralhome.com.

I have such wonderful memories of Laura LeFaive and her daughter Jane, my childhood friend for many years on Jarvis Street. Laura always made me feel special by taking the time to talk with me and even knitting a beautiful sweater for me. I remember the welcoming LeFaive home with the amazing vegetable garden. I'm sure her family has many cherished memories.
My deepest sympathy to you Jane and your family. I lost my Mother when I was 19 years old. I'm so happy that you had this special woman in your life for so many years. RIP Laura.

Laura has been a part of our lives since we became their next door neighbour in 1969. She continued as a best friend through the years sharing many laughs, special events & visits together. Fond memories of Laura have made this journey a blessing for our family. An amazing, wonderful, kind, generous lady!

Oh Aunt Laura!!! We are so, so sad to hear of her passing. So happy that we spoke a few weeks ago ... Aunt Laura sounded quite well at the time! She was such a lovely woman ... never complained, was always grateful for the little things, and ... well ... we will just miss her very much. Hugs to Jane and family.
