MACCOLLUM, Heather

It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Heather Grace MacCollum at the early age of 54 in Oshawa on March 11th.  Heather was the loving mother of Keith, dearest sister to Linda Newman and her husband Frank of Breslau, and to Graham Perry and his wife Janette of Bowmanville, a special aunt to Lindsay, David, Matthew, Laura, Eric and Alison, and great aunt to Ari, Sadie, Audrey, Carter and Bridget, while also being a devoted cat parent to Gwen.  She will be deeply missed by her “adopted” family in Oshawa.  Living in Oshawa for most of her life, she served as an enthusiastic candy striper at Oshawa General Hospital in her teens and then worked at various branches of Canada Trust in Oshawa and later at Pickering Centre for almost 30 years.  Her care and concern for others came through every day in her customer service role.  A celebration of her life will be held at a later date due to the Coronavirus. Donations in memory of Heather to your local Human Society would be appreciated and can be made through McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD, 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558).

Was so shocked and saddened to hear about Heather. Even though there have been only 2 visits to Canada since Heather was born, I have many fond, happy memories of my cousin. I remember her wonderful caring nature. I also remember how I'd mentioned I wasn't too keen on going on Big Dipper rides. Heather said words to the effect of "Well, we'll soon put a stop to that!" and proceeded to drag me on all the big dipper rides at the theme park we visited, TWICE! Am still not the biggest fan, however, when I do venture onto a ride I always think of Heather. We may have been a continent apart, however, when I did see Heather it was like I'd seen her the day before. You all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Sending lots of love and hugs. xxxx

Her death has very much left a hole in my life. We spoke every day for over 10 years, she will be missed by many but by me greatly!

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Heather's Family and friends. She enjoyed the game we and a bunch of friends play together on a daily basses. It was always a joy to see her and talk to her. She shared her real world with us and we all always had her in our thoughts and prayers and checked on her to make sure she was doing alright. She has deep ties to people in this game and to hear of her passing broke our hearts. We all miss her so very much and love her dearly. I know with her kind heart she is sitting at the lords table with those she knows that have gone before her and is happy and well. I will never forget her she was like a sister to me. Love and will miss you Heather.
