Pastor Wally was a special man. I loved and respected him greatly. He encouraged me as a young girl. I loved his smile and his quick wit. He was a good friend to my late Nanie, always caring about her as one of the seniors in his ministry. Jim and I had the honour to have Pastor Wally say the blessing at our wedding dinner. Fond memories of him and Betty. Praying for the family as you come together to celebrate his life and rejoice as he is now with our Lord. Xo

To read of Pastor Wally’s promotion to glory brought to my mind the pleasant chats we had over the years at Calvary Baptist Church. He always had a smile and a word of encouragementI extend my sincere condolences to his family who will miss him greatly. He was a faithful servant of God to the end, and has entered into Glory for eternity with a shining testimony.

    Hello Steve:
Just received information that your dear faither has gone to be with the Lord. He was a great encouragement to me and many others. We had quite a bit of contact during his time at Calvary and once in a while when we would meet at the "retired pastors" times together. I willl miss his smile and his constant encouragement.
Be assured of the prayers of Mary and me as you experience this temporary loss. We are in the US for a couple of weeks so will be unable to attend any services.
May the Lord stresngthen and bless you and your family,
    Glenn

Our prayers are with you all. We have fond memories of Wally and also Betty. We enjoyed your father‘s witt as he always has some little joke when he shook your hand to say hello at church.
Allan will be at the funeral but I’m sorry I’m not able to be there. I am in rehab after surgery. But I will be thinking of you.
Nothing can fill a dad or grandpa size hole in our lives We have comfort in knowing that that he is with the Lord who he loved so much.

Our thought and prayers are with all of the family at this time. You sure have lots of great memories of a Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa. We certainly enjoyed getting to know Wally as he joined us for Volunteer Work Weeks at Fair Havens. He was diligent in his tasks and always had a joke to share.

    Dear Steve and family,

My heart is filled with sympathy for all of you as you face the reality that your beloved father and grandpa has left earth for his reward. The place he leaves is large, but filled with so many good memories. Some of mine are meeting him in the context of Christian Service Brigade and also when I spoke at Calvary on occasion. He was a genuine Christian gentleman who made every person feel special. I'll be praying for you in these days of farewell and adjustment.

Dear Steve and Annette and family: We will miss our good friend Wally. He was always a cheerful and encouraging servant of the Lord. He was a faithful attendee at our Pastors and Wives meetings. These times of getting together were very precious indeed. We rejoice in the assurance that
he is home in heaven with the Lord he loved and served....and with his dear wife Betty.

We just wanted you all to know of our prayers and support in these days. Your father was a Christian mentor to many and certainly to myself. Our paths did not cross often enough in these last years. Steve, you may remember leading a canoe trip with your father from Camp Kakeka that included myself, Ron Evans and Dave Bacon from the Uxbridge CSB. Dave Beamer was also on this trip and he and I see/sawed between us for the Golden Arrow Award on that trip. I also was the Daily Log Keeper for that trip and I still have the notes that were circulated to all trip mates. In a subsequent year, your father asked me to lead a trip with him and we had a wonderful time. He exemplified a life well lived for Christ and he has already heard, "Well done thou good and faithful servant" from his and our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Blessings and God's peace and comfort to you all in these days!!!

Dear Elizabeth, Marg, Steve and Family’s what a heritage you have, Wally touched so many lives for Christ through his living testimony at Work, CSB and Cavary Baptist Church. We have so many good memories of Wally; baseball games and campfires in your back yard on Nonquan, camping trips with CSB wherein Wally was the leader and thankfully had the patience of Job.
We also enjoyed those times when Betty and Ethyl would stay at our cottage while Wally and friends were canoeing in the Park. Such precious memories of a great Christian family.
May the Lord be with you in your time of sorrow. We have a great and sure hope that we’ll meet again, we know where but don’t know when..

    All our love
    Cal and Bev

Dear Steve - I just heard that your Dad died on Friday. Wow! What an amazing life. What a treasure and gift he must have been to you you and all your family. I wish I were able to attend the funeral tomorrow. Please, in whatever way might be appropriate at the service, express my deepest gratitude for your dad. I could tell stories of what he meant to me as a teenager struggling to work out who I was. It was Wally who first showed me the love of Christ and that has made all the difference in the world. I thank God for your Dad - he was used of God in my life and I am eternally grateful. My prayers to you, Elizabeth and Margaret

    Liz, Marg and family,
When I think of your father, I am thankful for the time he spent at Camp Kakeka and the influence he had in so many lives. For me, Kakeka was a place where so much spiritual growth took place, and Wally was so much a part of that. I am grateful for the time he invested in my life. It has been a lot of years, but I will never forget his impact on the Camp, the staff, and on myself. Shelly and I will be keeping you in our prayers. God bless.

Our family has the highest respect and admiration for our brother Wally Mills. He is a gentle and Christ-like soul, who showed an interest in, and always made our kids laugh. He was great source of encouragement to my wife and I, and we enjoyed having him in our home.

Our prayers are with the family at this time, who miss him without a doubt. We are thankful and are confident that our brother Wally is "with Christ; which is far better" Philippians 1:23.

    Dear Mills Family,
Please know that our prayers are with you during this time. Wally was a special person to so many. Countless souls will be in heaven because of his witness. He helped us establish CSB in Montreal back in the 70's. Wally was my first contact. What a friend and encouragement he was.
