Those of us who knew Uncle Bob will remember his sense of fun,his fondness for road trips, preferably in a car full of people, and his genuine appreciation and affection for the people he met on his journeys. He had a gentle sense of humour and a twinkle in his eye that brightened the days of all those he encountered. He loved stories, his own and everyone else’s. He cherished his family, his friends, and his church. He was truly a humble man who left us a legacy of fair play and decency. We are all fortunate to have had him in our lives and our memories, and are comforted in knowing that a life well lived is never lost. God bless, Uncle Bob.

“A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It keeps bringing everyone together again and again”. Maya Angelou
Bob was indeed a great soul. He was our minister at St. Andrews Lanark from48 to 57. It is such a tribute to him that all who encountered him in those years always felt such a connection. Ten years ago he was Anniversary speaker for us. You could feel the love and connectivity resonate through all assembled . He was inspirational (and resplendent in his kilt!). This great soul will continue his gift of connectivity with all whose lives he touched . I can just imagine the joy also going on now beyond earth life. Thank you Bob!!Love and Sympathy to all Bob’s family and friends. Thank you so much Jeannie for calling on Friday.

To the McNaught family - my deep sympathy to you in the loss of a very fine man. Bob has been a special friend to Owen and me over many years. He was a great support to Owen during his last days. I shall never forget the Burns' dinners at Dr. Margaret Arkinstall's home in Queensville - Bob addressing the haggis and Owen playing the bagpipes, nor the tales of Lanark and my family there. Thank you Bob for your friendship and for the memories I shall cherish.

    Chris and Lesly Notter
When we decided to get married, and we needed a minister that would do an interfaith service, my father-in-law, Ivan Notter, recommended Rev. McNaught. Rev. McNaught brought our two religions together into one beautiful ceremony. It was an honor to have him officiate our wedding in 1984. What an absolutely lovely man. He made our wedding day (and our rehearsal) so much more than just a regular ceremony. He added something that only he could bring. Please accept our sincerest condolences on the loss of this wonderful man.
